Adesse – Bond Street

Posh vegan food in the middle of Selfridges 🛍 {press meal}

I’ve been dying to try renowned plant-based chef @matthewkenneycuisine’s food for yonks, so it’s great to finally welcome him to London in the form of @adessemkc 🌱

Here’s what I ate:

🍝 Cacio e pepe, kelp noodles, pea shoots, green & black olives
🤷🏼‍♀️ Order again? Yes. Creative, light, refreshing – really enjoyed this
🏆 Fave dish

🥔 Smashed fingerling potatoes w/ truffle aioli
🤷🏼‍♀️ Order again? Yes. The potatoes were a tad dry but otherwise excellent. The truffle was subtle but the garlic was on point

🍄 Mushroom agrodolce w/ seasonal herbs
🤷🏼‍♀️ Order again? Yes. Would’ve been nice to have them a bit crispy but I couldn’t stop eating these

🌱 Caviar, blini & crème fraiche
🤷🏼‍♀️ Order again? No. Tasty but £5 per blini is a bit much to ask

🌱 Jackfruit fritter w/ tofu parmesan & kimchi mayo
🤷🏼‍♀️ Order again? Yes. Moist, flavoursome, delicious mayo

🌱 Chickpea croquette w/ agrodolce crumb
🤷🏼‍♀️ Order again? No. Too dry and crumbly for me

🍜 Spicy udon, togarashi, tempeh, shiitake mushrooms, cashew, hoisin
🤷🏼‍♀️ Order again? No. Wanted to love it but found the flavours strange

🧀 Baked raclette, toasted sourdough, house pickle & red chilli oil
🤷🏼‍♀️ Order again? No. Though the flavour was clever, I wasn’t into the texture of this cheese and the dish felt a bit dry

🍨 Chocolate & salted caramel crunch w/ vanilla cream
🤷🏼‍♀️ Order again? Yes. Excellent dessert 👏🏼
🏆 Fave dish

💭 Summary: It’s great to see creative vegan food taking centre stage, some of it was a delight. The restaurant is slick & sophisticated, but some of the prices made my eyes water
