Sadly, since I posted this review, this restaurant closed as the owner passed away. My condolences and thoughts go to Antonio and his family.
My dream meal? 🤷🏼♀️ Carbs on carbs. On carbs. On carbs. On carbs. In fact, I honestly think I could change my name to Carby McCarbface and my friends wouldn’t bat an eyelid 👀
So, it was with greatest pleasure that I accepted an invite to the brand spankin’ new @antoniosvegankitchen🍝 Not saying I’m @massimobotturabut in my experience, apart from tomato dishes, vegan Italian food can be bloody hard to get right 🌱 I guess that’s why it’s hard to find 🤷🏼♀️ Well, Antonio and his team (@ricgessachef) know how to whip up a BLOODY good classic pasta dish, vegan style 👏🏼🍝
@jolley_chris and I scoffed our little faces (we didn’t leave one bite) with:
🍝 Truffle pasta (£11.50) – My dish of the night. This was creamy without feeling heavy and the thinly sliced mushrooms soaked up those beaut truffle flavours. Perfect! 😍
🍝 Carbonara (£9.50) – This dish was tasty. It’s salty (but I like that) and carries a lovely rich flavour and a mild kick from the black pepper which warms the back of your throat. I’m normally dubious about vegan bacon but it worked
🍝 Bolognese (£9.50) – Al dente pasta topped with soy mince, breadcrumbs and vegan Parmesan. Not my favourite dish of the night but still nice 😋
🍝 Spinach & ricotta ravioli (£8.50) – The filling was a bit too runny but the lemon juice gave it a nice flavour. Some pine nuts on top would be tasty! I’ve heard amazing things about the mushroom so will return to try that (for research 😏)
🍝 Parmigiana (£5, GF) – Close contender for dish of the night. Wow. Never tasted anything so bursting with fresh tomatoes. Very good!
🍫 I don’t have a huuuuuge sweet tooth but shout out to the vegan nutella crepe for dessert which was UNREAL 😍
Loved it here! ❤️ Super cute place with BYO booze and bangin’ pasta 🍷🍝😍 They also have pizza and calzones on the menu! 🍕
