If you haven’t been to this place already, you need to (cafe van) GOGH! 💁🏼♀️ (Invite)
You may remember seeing the glorious vegan roast I posted from @cafevangogh01 a few weeks ago 👀 Well, their dinner menu is JUST as impressive 😍 Their dishes are unique, creative and you can tell that a lot of love has gone into them.
I tucked into:
🍄 Fried “chicken” and waffles made using mushrooms. This dish is fantastic. I actually preferred it to a lot of Seitan dishes I’ve had. Clever! Dish available Tues-Fri
🧀 Butternut squash macaroni with jalapeños and crispy onions. I had this last time too and enjoyed it so much I had to order it again. Creamy, smooth and totally moreish comfort food
🥧 Creamy Seitan “chicken” mushroom pie with spiced red cabbage and champ (mash made using spring onions) – Absolutely delicious. The pastry was perfect and the filling was creamy and warming. I actually think I would prefer it with more veg instead of Seitan but either way, this is going to become my new winter staple 😍🌱
🍍 Jerk plantain with seasoned rice, a chilli bowl, pineapple salsa and salad. The chilli was well spiced, the plantain was beautifully charred and the salsa gave it sweetness 👌🏼 The rice needed a tiny bit more flavour but otherwise, a very good dish!
The @cafevangogh01 team are incredible. Not only is the space absolutely adorable 😍 they’re 100% vegan 🌱, they create some super unique and delicious dishes 😋, they’re striving to be zero waste 🚫AND they’re a not for profit organisation with money going towards programmes for people with disabilities to help them with and confidence to look for employment 👏🏼 Talk about a restaurant on a social mission. Take a bow, CVG! 🙌🏼 Please show your support by following their Instagram and visiting their restaurant. They really deserve it!
The lovely team were kind enough to invite me and gave me this food on a complimentary basis. No payment was received and all opinions, as always, are honest and my own.
