The amazing @clubmexicana team really took Taco Tuesday to the next level this week by collaborating with @radioalicepizzeria at @thespreadeaglelondon. Pizza meets tacos (with a margarita or two thrown in for good measure) 🍕🌮 I rest my case. Also, quick shoutout to the man who looks like he’s about to sip on my marg 🤣
🇲🇽 🇮🇹 We kicked off the Mexalian (copyrighting that) feast with tostadas, black bean pesto, sun dried tomatoes, pickled cabbage, fried green frigitello peppers, seasonal leaves & micro watercress 😋 All of these ingredients worked so well together. That pesto is genius! 👏🏼
The Primo course was bruschetta with heirloom tomatoes, Mexican oregano and micro basil 🌿 🍅
Secondi was a trio of tacos; 🌮 The Margarita with slow cooked tomato, ‘Mozzarella’, basil purée and micro basil 🌮 The Caponata with aubergine, capers, peppers, olive ‘speck’ & tropea onion marmalade & micro red vein sorrel and 🌮 The Calabrese Hot with tomato, ‘Mozzarella’, Mexican ‘chorizo’ & pickled Calabrian chilli 🌶 The pretendy Mozzarella and sweet tomato flavours were amazing but my fave was the Caponata. It had a lovely sweet flavour which also contrasted with a slight smokiness 🤤
For the Dolce course (swipe left) we tucked into a perfectly wobbly coconut pannacotta with peach coulis & edible flowers 🍮🌸 I honestly think this got better and better the more you ate. Divine!
I’d be lying if I said I knew what every ingredient was but DAMN I liked them all 😄 I’m yet to dislike anything that @clubmexicana makes. These guys have been top of the game for years now.
