Fayre Share – Victoria Park (Now Closed)

It’s true that I’ve been to my “fayre share” of restaurants but the dishes at @fayreshare were some of the most delicious I’ve had 😍

The vegan options here are a little limited 🌱 BUT they’re definitely worth a visit because the options they do have are fayre-ly bloody impressive 😋
Located in the cutest little spot on Victoria Park Road, this venue boasts some absolutely beautiful decor as well as a little outdoor sun trap for perfect Saturday morning brunch opps ☀️ They pride themselves on simple but powerful flavours 😍
I ordered the woodland mushrooms & butter beans to start and was instantly hit by the aniseed flavour 😍 Packed with big, juicy, meaty mushrooms and soft butter beans, the flavours and textures are a dream 👌🏼 Teamed with a delicious crusty bread which flakes when you bite into it but is soft in the middle to soak up the juices, this dish is salty but sweet, comforting but fresh. I could have eaten three (or four or five) of them 🤤

The main (pictured) is simply titled ‘courgette, aubergine & mixed beans’ and it is absolutely bursting with sweet tomato flavour 🍅 The veggies are perfectly cooked so that they soak up the flavours of the dish. Whilst the beans do make it more substantial, the carb lover in me would’ve preferred a little side of mash to a side salad 💁🏼‍♀️ Very similar to a ratatouille, this is a perfect example of a dish with simple ingredients which, when paired well, is an absolute triumph 👏🏼
We also ordered the apple & walnut side salad which was fresh but for me, needed a bit more balance as it was a little bitter for my tastebuds 👅 To finish, we tried the sorbet which is one of the best I’ve ever had. It is EXPLODING with sweet berries – absolutely beautiful! 🍧
