Greedy Khao – Whitechapel

As a self titled greedy cow, it gives me the greatest pleasure to support @greedykhao 🤣🐮 (Invite)
Now, it’s not just because their pun game is strong but (and I’ve said this before but I’ll say it again) because these guys make the best vegan Thai food in town 👏🏼 Last week, they hosted an ‘A-harn Chao Wang’ (aka Royal Thai Cuisine / Palace Food) supper club which focused on more refined Thai dining with an emphasis on presentation and pairing textures and flavours in just the right way 👌🏼
The team served up some simply scrumptious dishes including:
🌱 A Kangkao-puak triangle pastry filled with Taro (a potato like vegetable)
🌱 Khnom-pang-naa-moo (‘Pork’ toast) served with sweet and sour relish .
🌱 Rice vermicelli with vegan “chicken”, a coconut ‘dressing’, fresh & sweet pineapple pieces, toasted coconut flakes, shredded ginger, sliced garlic, lightly pickled bird’s eye chilli in a vegan fish sauce and a lime wedge to add some zest (see second photo) 🐘 .
🌱 A traditional sumrub (meal set) with butterfly pea rice to give it that gorgeous blue colour, coconut cream, spicy papaya salad, decadent red curry, shredded & candied mushrooms
🌱A sweet pandan jelly filled with tapioca and crunchy water chestnuts, topped with indulgent, lightly salted coconut cream
@greedykhao’s food is head and shoulders above other Thai food I’ve tried in the UK and this supper club was no different. I strongly urge you to pay them a visit! ♥️ At the moment, the @greedykhao team are popping up at different markets across London or occasionally they run one of these supper clubs. However, they’re on their way to getting a permanent spot (and they deserve it) so please be sure to follow them for any updates! 🌱🙌🏼😍
The lovely team were kind enough to invite me and gave me this food on a complimentary basis. No payment was received and all opinions, as always, are honest and my own.
