If you dough-nut already know, it’d be a mi-steak not to check out @greggs_official this Jan 🌱
So, not sure if anyone’s realised but there are some new vegan option at @greggs_official… 😂
🙈 JKAYS obvs I realise that half of the UK has tucked into the new steak bake and glazed doughnuts already but for what it’s worth, here’s my two cents 🥰
Firstly, I’ll start with the usual disclaimer that these releases are GREAT for the vegan movement 👏🏼 💽 I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again and I’m ok with sounding like a broken record:
Accessibility & convenience are two of the most important factors that will help people to go vegan and it’s important that everyone is able to make that choice without having to worry about being able to afford it, being able to access the relevant products etc. 🌱🙅🏼♀️ Also, let’s not judge people for *how* they go vegan or where they shop. As long as people are doing their best in a non-vegan world, that’s what matters. Get off of your damn high horse.
Right, now onto the products:
💭Some have loved it, others have been underwhelmed. I liked it! It wasn’t the greatest thing I’ve ever eaten, nor was it the worst. For the price, it’s pretty good bang for your buck! I liked the onion gravy – The flavour could’ve been stronger but it was nice. I loved the chunks of onion & the “meat” thought it was more mince than chunks! The pastry is really nice – similar to the sausage roll. It’s well stuffed too. Maybe not a direct vegan replica of the steak bake but good in its own way, I thought!
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes
💭This was great! Light, not greasy at all, not sickly, delicious, well priced. A decent doughnut!
