There are few things in life that make me happier than when I discover a new vegan burger 🍔🌱
My most recent treasure is @hacheburgers’ brand spankin’ new plantbased babe 😍 This sexy thang is packed with a panko crusted Portobello mushroom, spicy peanut sauce, crispy kale, a generous portion of avocado & sesame seeds and framed by a toasted ciabatta bun. Also, top marks for sultry name: Secret Garden. Mysterious 🌱
Now, I was a little dubious going into things because, let’s be honest, it is an unusual combo, but I was wrong to be 🙅🏼♀️🍔🍄 The fact that the mushroom is breaded means that it gives it a bit of bite which I normally find is lacking in a mushroom burger 🍔 It also stops the juice soaking through the bun and becoming soggy, whilst still retaining that beautiful juicy texture when you bite into it 😍
The ciabatta bun works well. I don’t know if perhaps a sweet bun would give it a little extra something but either way, the ciabatta was perfectly tasty 👏🏼 The peanut sauce is sweet although not particularly spicy as advertised but that didn’t phase me. The kale gives it a nice crunch and the avocado provides a beaut creamy layer 🤤 🥑
All in all, I’m impressed that @hacheburgers has pushed the boat out and clearly given this burger a lot of thought. I enjoyed this and would order it again. Bravo, Haché! Also, anywhere with a side of gherkins is fiiiiine by me!
