Food that’s “jam” packed with flavour 👌🏼 {ad – press sample}
Meet fully vegan @jam.delish – bringing some much needed Caribbean heat to this snowy day ❄️
Fed up with the lack of dishes resembling the traditional Caribbean ones they grew up eating, Jordan & Chyna decided to give it a go themselves👏🏼
Their mock meats are all made in house (some are soy based, some are seitan, some are a mix) 🍗
Here’s what I thought (dishes are listed clockwise around the plate):
🍛 Classic island rice and peas

🥘 Curry goat slow cooked with fresh veg and infused with garlic, ginger, scallions, thyme & scotch bonnets
💰£12.95

🧀 Bacon mac & cheese

🍌Plantain

🥘Curry “prawns” with big bold flavours – carrot & peppers in a creamy coconut sauce, infused with garlic, thyme, ginger, scotch bonnet & curry spice
💰£13.95
🍗Jerk “chicken” wings – thin tofu wrap with a sugar cane skewer, marinated in homemade spicy jerk sauce and then grilled
💰£11.95
🥕Slaw made with shredded red & white cabbage, carrots and dressed in apple cider vinegar and mustard
💰£3.50
🥘Curry “chicken” marinated in a secret family recipe and slow cooked with fresh seasonal veg
💰£12.95
💭All of the flavours are stunning. The seasoning on the wings in particular really impressed me. It’s so impressive that this is all made from scratch. My feedback was that I thought some of the mock meats were a little dense / chewy. I would’ve liked them a bit more soft and tender. The prawns were also clever texture-wise but needed a bit more flavour. I’d love to try the veg-based dishes next time. The ackee and codfish sounds divine
