@lostboyspizza in Archway is serving up vampire themed pizzas by adding charcoal to the dough bases to make them black in colour and give them an earthy, smoky flavour 🤤 I’ve had pizza with charcoal bases before and loved them. I find that they leave you feeling less heavy and bloated. My friend and I ate one each as well as dough balls, and didn’t feel uncomfortably full which is a bonus 🍕♥️

The team offer a few vegan options:

🍕 Kale All Vampires with kale, cherry tomatoes, caramelised onions, lemon zest, oregano & nutritional yeast – £9.50
🍕 The Coffin Dodger with broccoli, artichokes, pickled mushrooms, rocket & nutritional yeast – £9.50

So, what did I think? Well, I absolutely loved the dough balls and the bases for the pizzas. I would happily have all of my pizzas on charcoal bases from now on! The tomato sauce was also absolutely delicious – It was sweet and bursting with flavour 🍅 😋
My favourite of the two pizzas was probably the kale pizza, but I did feel that the toppings were a bit too chunky and perhaps didn’t quite work for me. I would’ve preferred smaller chunks of toppings and I think more juicy toppings like aubergine or peppers would’ve complimented the pizzas more than broccoli, kale and artichoke. The team said that they had purposefully avoided vegan cheese which is totally fine although I didn’t think that the nutritional yeast added enough flavour. I think the base of these pizzas is there (literally) and by ‘vamping’ up the toppings, these could be really special!

The vibe is cute! It’s cosy, welcoming and the walls are adorned with vampire posters 🧛‍♀️ I also think that £10 is a reasonable price!
