The menu that will leave you wanting mor-ito 🤤{ad}
UPDATE: I’ve visited Morito a few times since and there haven’t been as many vegan dishes on offer which is a shame. Hopefully they bring back vegan Mondays!
Well, unless, like us, you ordered the whole menu 🙈We just couldn’t choose, ok? 😂@moritohackney just jumped STRAIGHT into my ‘favourite restaurants in London’ list. I was blown away by the variety & quality of the food 😍
It’s an omni restaurant but they have vegan Monday’s and their offering is so strong, you’d be mistaken for thinking it was a vegan place! 🌱
Please note that the restaurant gave me some smaller portions so that we could try more of a range so the size of some dishes may be bigger if you order them!
Here’s what we ate and thought:
🌱Babaganoush, sundried tomatoes & peppers, crispy chickpeas & mint
💰£7.50
✏️I’m a big fan of babaganoush anyway and this was done really well. It was very creamy and the sun-dried tomato and mint really elevated this dish to the next level! I also loved the light, airy, crunchy chickpeas.

🌱Hummus w/ fried cauliflower, crispy chickpeas & falafel spice
💰£7.50
✏️A very well executed hummus. This dish was very special. I loved the creaminess and also the zesty flavour which ran throughout. The cauliflower was cooked so well and the flavours. Oh my goodness, the flavours. Loved it!
❓Order Again? Yes
🌱Seared oyster mushrooms w/ romesco aioli, hazelnut & lemon
💰£9
✏️I bloody love an oyster mushroom. I can’t get enough of them! These were so juicy and moist. Perhaps a tiny touch oily but I could overlook it! The romesco aioli was unreal – I loved the crunch of the hazelnuts and the sharp, nutty flavour it gave the whole sauce. I’ve never seen a dish like this before. It was amazing.
❓Order Again?
🌱Patatas bravas w/ aioli
💰£7.50
✏️So good. I’m such a fan of patatas bravas and can never overlook it when it’s on a menu! This was served with big, chunky wedges and the sauce had a lovely tangy, tomato flavour to it. The aioli was very garlicky which I loved!
❓Order Again? Yes
🌱Fattoush salad, sumac, pickled za’atarr, purslane & crispy pita
💰£7
✏️This was very heavy on the mint but it really worked. This was the perfect example of how to flavour a salad. It was bursting! Not one single bit was bland. The crispy pita was the standout for me and it gave the dish some substance / made it a bit more filling. It was quite acidic so I’m not sure I could eat a whole one but it’s nice as a sharing salad.
❓Order Again? Yes
🌱Deep fried aubergine w/ almond & oat yoghurt & date molasses
💰£7.50
✏️This was such an unexpectedly great dish. Some of you may know of my love/hate relationship with aubergine. Well, this was yet another dish which changed my mind. The sweet molasses was absolutely divine and the aubergine was soft and squishy on the inside. I loved it.
❓Order Again? Yes
🌱Spinach, courgette & sweet pepper tortilla
💰£5
✏️The flavours in this were beautiful. I really liked the spicy pepper salsa and the vegan mayo. I loved the texture of this too, it was very creamy and felt like it had almost like a soft, fluffy potato base. This dish was right up my street! We ended up eating all of this one despite trying to pace ourselves!
❓Order Again? Yes
🌱Walnut & pepper kofte in gem lettuce w/ coriander & lime
💰£7.50
✏️This was a nice, light dish. It wasn’t my absolute favourite but I did enjoy it. The flavours were lovely and
❓Order Again? Yes
🌱Black eyed bean salad w/ spring onions, fresh herbs & avocado mojo
💰£8
✏️The flavours in this were really nice, the beans had been sweetened and flavoured nicely but I’m not sure I’d order it again purely because the other dishes were so strong and it wasn’t my absolute favourite. Having said that, it is a nice lightish with a nice citrusy flavour in the avocado mojo.
❓Order Again? No
🌱 Breadbasket with za’atar
💰£2.50
✏️I really loved the bread. The flavours were so great, and I’d definitely order this if you’re thinking of getting the babaganoush as they pair perfectly!
❓Order Again? Yes
🌱 Deep fried courgette, cacao, lemon
💰£8
✏️I wasn’t sure I’d love these because I’m not always a big fan of deep fried veg but they were so delicious. They weren’t greasy or oily and they worked so well with the tzatziki style dip.
❓Order Again? Yes
🌱 Crispy za’atar flatbread, purslane, hot guindilla
💰£7.50
✏️I was torn with this dish. I really loved the flavours on the flatbread itself but I didn’t like the flavour of the leaves on top – It was a bit too acidic / bitter for me. The cheese was also a little gloopy. I’d order it again sans leaves, I think.
❓Order Again? Yes, w/changes
I suppose that people might look at the prices and think that some of them are expensive for sharing plates but honestly, you get your money’s worth. The quality of this food is very high and (contrary to my order), you only need a few dishes to share. I think 2-3 per person would be sufficient.
