I was invited to dine canal side in Hackney Wick to enjoy the mother of all feasts at @mother.works 😍 This is a 100% vegan cafe with chilled, New York loft apartment vibes 💡 The menu is packed full of wholesome, plant-based food made using organic ingredients 🌱 They’re also aiming to become a zero-waste business so they use recyclable packaging and encourage you to bring your own containers in exchange for a discount 👏🏼
@jolley_chris and I tucked into:
🥕 Smoked ‘Salmon’ + Cream Cheese on a gluten free bagel. Made using cashew cream cheese and smoked carrot ‘salmon’ topped with dill and lemon juice. This is clever! ♥️ Look, it’s not going to convince anyone that it’s smoked salmon but it is delicious in its own right!
🌱 Frozen Acai Bowl with blended berries & banana, topped with banana, granola, coconut flakes & raspberries. We also added peanut butter. Probs the best açai bowl I’ve had since I was in Oz 😋
🍛 Sri Lankan Jackfruit + Sweet Potato Curry (GF). A mildly spiced curry with shredded jackfruit, sweet potato and spinach served with rice and coconut sambol. Sweet and creamy, I really liked this. The jackfruit worked really well and it reminded me of a lamb curry!
🌱 Loaded Nachos (GF) topped with Mexican spiced black beans, cashew cheese, sour cream, salsa + guac – These were DIVINE 🥑
🥪 The Non-Tuna Mayo toasted sandwich (GF option available). A chickpea, celery & dill mash with creamy cashew mayo, tomato and lettuce on sourdough. This was my least favourite, think it needed more flavour, more filling and a softer, thinner bread .
🥤Peanut Butter booster with oat milk, banana, maca, cacoa nibs, dates
🥤Mint choc chip smoothie with coconut milk, banana, spinach, mint, maca, raw cacao, nibs, dates
