Looking for a vegan roast in London with a difference? Have you ever had a Caribbean / British roast? 🤔 Well, this is what it looks like and the Original Flava team are ready to serve it to you.

I first met Craig & Shaun from Original Flava a few years ago and when I found out they had a residency in Brixton serving up Caribbean roasts, I knew I needed to pay them a visit. Where there’s a vegan roast in London, I will follow.

We tried the:

🍌 Plantain chana roti taco – £7.50

🌱 BBQ fried jackfruit – £7.95

🍟 Jerk spiced fries – £4.50

🌱 The Caribbean / British vegan roast loaded with jerk jackfruit, rice & peas, roast potatoes, veg, coleslaw, fried plantain & jerk gravy – £17.50

🍨 No vegan desserts sadly

💭 Vegans roast can sometimes be a bit bland so it was really nice to try something a bit more creative but I’ve also struggled to find a really decent vegan roast in London. The Original Flava Caribbean roast definitely brings something different to the table (literally). I really liked the coating on the jackfruit but would’ve liked the jackfruit itself to have a bit more flavour. The jerk gravy was beautiful – I really enjoyed that. The roasties were tasty but could’ve been a bit crispier. Loved the veg, rice & peas and plantain. The slaw wasn’t for me
