Caught mid sentence asking “How many vegan burgers are acceptable in one sitting”. Answer? The limit does not exist. 🤷🏼♀️🍔
You heard it here first, kids! 🍔 @pattyandbun has now got a VEGAN option and in all honesty, it’s one of the best I’ve ever had 🌱 .
This ain’t no half-hearted vegan option which has been tacked on the end of the menu. This burger is GLORIOUS 👼🏼
Meet the Whoopi Goldburger (Bonus point for awesome name 👏🏼 ) which is packed with a mushroom & tempeh fritter (another bonus point for originality), bread & butter pickles, diced onion, smoked vegan Gouda cheese, mustard, ketchup, lettuce & a bonsoy bun 🍔
This took me right back to my meat-eating days. It felt like a mix between a sloppy joe and a quarter pounder (which used to be my favourite burger) 🤤 Whilst it is a little mushy and falls apart relatively easily, I’ve never been afraid of a little mess 😜
I LOVE the ingredients. I’ve never had a mushroom and tempeh patty before but it totally works 👏🏼 The patty has plenty of moisture, has a crunch on the outside and is soft inside. You get an earthy hit from the mushrooms & tempeh which contrasts against the sweetness from the ketchup & mustard and the tang from the tonne of pickles (if you don’t think they belong on a burger, we need to have a chat) as well as a strong hit of diced onions, mixed in with the creamy Gouda, which is coconut oil based, melts just like real cheese and leaves the roof of your mouth with that slightly sticking feeling 🧀😍🍔 .
At £8.50, this isn’t the cheapest on the market but it is worth every damn penny 💰 Massive ‘well done’ to @pattyandbun on putting effort into creating a totally unique burger and, more importantly, pulling it off. This is filthy, filling and flippin’ delicious. WE ARE NOT WORTHY 😍🙌🏼
