I’m nuts about a satay-sfying lunch 🥜
I’ve got a new street food stall for you to add to your lunch rotation! 👀 @sataystreetuk, sometimes located on Petticoat Lane & sometimes on Shoreditch High Street is serving up delicious satay goodness (also available for order online). They’re not vegan but they do have a few options 🌱
@jolley_chris and I tried out:
🌱 Braised Tofu & Green Curry Bao Buns
💰 £3 (£5.50 for two)
✏️ This was delicious! The bao buns were nice and fluffy, the sauce was packed with bold, sweet flavours. It wasn’t too spicy and there was a generous amount of sauce. I personally prefer slightly silkier tofu as braised always seems a bit chewy to me but I still enjoyed it ✌🏼

✏️ This is honestly my idea of a dream lunch. Satay tofu and rice for the absolute win. I really enjoyed the taste of the peanut sauce and thought there was a perfect ratio of sauce to rice/salad although Chris didn’t get as much as me so a little more consistency with that would be great!
Same opinion on the tofu – I enjoyed it but it was still a little chewy for me. Although, braised tofu does mean that it soaks up the flavours nicely! The sweet chilli sauce we chose to add also worked really well 😋 I love that you can choose to add your own salad because you can decide which contrasting textures you want. I added some crispy onions, red onions, peppers, chillies (some of which were SUPER spicy 🔥), lettuce, cucumber and some coriander
I think that the prices are very reasonable considering the size of the portions! The staff are really friendly and the line was long the whole time we were there, so I’m definitely not the first to find out about this place! ♥️
I forgot to bring my reusable container on this day and would like to take this opportunity to politely ask @sataystreetuk if they’d consider using a different material for their containers to reduce plastic consumption. That would be an amazing step forward ☺️♥️
