Oh to start? Just a light snack, thanks 💁🏼♀️ But forreal, if you’re able to order less than three starters from @tyfldn, you’re a stronger person than I’ll ever be 😂
I popped down with @belleofbrunch to check out @lucywatson & @tiffanyc_watson’s new vegan joint and was impressed (although not surprised, based on how much these girls love their vegan food) at how creative the menu was 🌱👏🏼 We started with the cheese board, red onion chutney, grapes, sliced pears & bread 🧀 Whilst the “goats cheese” was far too sour for me, I couldn’t get enough of the “cheddar” 🤤 It had a soft, spreadable texture but the taste is very realistic! 😍
Next, we moved onto the “chicken” bites with hemp & sunflower crumbed jackfruit and BBQ sauce 🍗 Roasted padron peppers with sea salt, Cashew mac’n’cheese with “bacon” 🧀 🥓 and the King oyster mushroom “scallops” 🍄 .
My favourite out of these dishes was the mac & cheese 🤤 This was my dream dish before I turned vegan and it was so nice to taste a vegan version which actually had a cheesy flavour 👏🏼 It was creamy, thick but not too stodgy and the pretend bacon bites added a nice salty taste 😋 The chicken bites looked exactly like chicken and were also super tasty! 🍗 That crumb 🤤 I’m not sure I would order the scallops again as the quinoa patties were a little thick for me.
For mains, we chose the Buddha bowl with quinoa, sticky tofu, sweet potato, avocado, pak choi & greens with a sweet sesame sauce and the raw lasagne which was made using courgette strips layered with cashew cream cheese, walnut Bolognese & a Pomodoro sauce 🍅 Both of the mains were tasty enough but i preferred the starters and would’ve been happy if the whole menu was tapas style! All in all, cute decor, creative dishes (some stronger than others) and a nice atmosphere although a little pricey 🌱
