The Bike Shed – Shoreditch

I would ‘harley’ have known this place existed if I hadn’t been invited down but I’m ‘wheelie’ glad I found it because DAMN, this is the best vegan roast I’ve ever had 🌱🏍 Swipe for more pics! (Invite)
I’ve walked past @bikeshedmc so many times without going in. It‘s set inside rail arches and is rustic & beautiful 😍 Yes, it’s a bike club but it’s also a restaurant, a bar, a barber shop and a place to chill out 😎 The service was excellent, the food is fantastic and the venue itself is awesome 👏🏼
I was invited down to taste the festive menu which launches on 22nd November 🎄Lets kick things off with the roast 😍 Sweet as a nut mate, sweet as a nut 👌🏼 A perfect example of everything a nut roast should be 🥜 Full of flavour, moist (why are there no synonyms for this word), packed with a range of contrasting textures, little hints of fruit to give it some sweetness, it’s firm enough to be held together and soft enough to soak up the beautiful, rich gravy 🤤 The star of the show is the shredded carrot, cabbage and kale on top which takes this dish to the next level. I could’ve eaten a bowl of this on its own 😍 The brussels are soft, the potatoes are fluffy inside and crisp outside, the carrots are perfection 🥕 I don’t like parsnips but @emsharp24 liked them! If this had a vegan yorkie and a little more gravy, it would’ve been a solid 10/10 👏🏼

The creamy celeriac soup was warm and comforting with subtle hints of crunchy hazelnuts, truffle and cracked black pepper 👏🏼 The sweet chocolate brownie had a really bloody lovely texture, it was rich, decadent and was perfect with a dollop of creamy vegan ice cream 🍨 I wasn’t sure what to expect from this menu but the chef (@tracktheshepherd) told me that he‘s (almost) vegan and it’s clear he knows what he’s doing. Top marks, get on ya bike and book 🎅🏼

The lovely team were kind enough to invite me and gave me this food on a complimentary basis. No payment was received and all opinions, as always, are honest and my own.
