Seitan, and jackfruit, and tacos.. Oh, my! 🦁 🐯 🐻
I’m at home when surrounded by vegan food and we all know there’s no place like home 😜 I followed the yellow brick road down to @thefencelondon to taste their bottomless brunch! 🥂 All of the items on the menu were veggie with a tonne of vegan options (including the prosecco) 🍾🌱
My whirlwind of an order included watermelon gazpacho 🍉🥣 , Seitan satay sticks with peanut sauce 🥜 spinach, potato & onion samosas, Kentucky fried Seitan burger 🍔 with slaw and rosemary salted chips 🍟, spiced chickpea fritters with pickled cucumber, rocket & tomatoes, pulled jackfruit tacos with mango salsa 🌮 aubergine pahi with roasted peanuts and Genoa pancake with spring vegetables, courgette & pine nut pesto 🥞🤤
It’s SO great to see a pub making such a great effort to offer incredible veggie & vegan options, and not just your run of the mill risotto, creative and clever ingredient combos 👏🏼 We’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto! The world is changing 🌍 🌱My faves were the aubergine pahi with beautiful Thai green curry flavours and crunchy peanuts, the jackfruit tacos which were bursting with a sweet tomato flavour and some heat 🔥 and also the Genoa pancake with the most divine pine nut pesto – like a little vegan summery quiche 🤤
The bad news, my pretties is that this brunch isn’t running anymore 😭 The good news? The team are adding the most popular items to the menu! 🌱 So, make sure you use your brain to get down there soon. Follow your heart and order all of the food and pluck up the courage to get a bottle of prosecco 😛❤️🧠👊🏼
