The Stable in Whitechapel is where Chris and I first met two years ago and we’ve celebrated our anniversary there ever since, including this visit to the venue a few weeks ago! We believe it’s fate that we met somewhere serving vegan pizza 😂

Please note: We tried half & half pizzas for the purpose of trying a range of their pizza  so below are the prices for the full size pizza. All of the pizzas have a very thin crust so they felt a bit lighter and left me feeling a bit more comfortable than other pizzas. The cheese melted quite well but did tend to stick to the roof of my mouth a little.


🌱Vegan Greek pizza (left of the second picture) w/ marinated tomatoes, garlic & rosemary olives, red onion, dressed rocket & vegan feta


✏️ Firstly, I really loved the feta they used here! It’s not as strong as non-vegan feta but it did add a nice saltiness to the pizza. I don’t normally love rocket but it actually did work quite well here, although for my personal tastes, it was a little too much and the flavour was strong. There was also a strong olive flavour and I’m not a huge fan of olives either (I know, I know). Overall, this felt a bit fresher than the other pizzas.

Order Again?⁣ No, olives and rocket weren’t to my taste


🌱Blazing Jack pizza (right of the second picture w/ BBQ jackfruit, roasted peppers, caramelised onions, vegan mozzarella, jalapeños & butterbean aioli 


✏️This was my favourite of the pizzas on offer as it packed the most flavour and the jackfruit gave it a nice, meaty bite. The jackfruit worked really well, there was a nice bit of heat from the jalapeños, the addition of caramelised onion was beautiful. They gave it a nice sweetness but also a slightly bitter taste which contrasted well. I love caramelised onions, especially on a pizza. The jackfruit really held onto the flavour and it worked well with the vegan cheese.

🌱Allo Aloha pizza (left of the third picture) w/ pineapple, field mushrooms, vegan mozzarella, avocado & chilli


✏️ I found the cheese flavour on this quite overwhelming and it dominated the pizza. The pineapple gave a touch of sweetness and I liked the combination of juicy pineapple, creamy avocado and meaty mushrooms but I wanted the chilli to provide a little more heat as it was quite mild.

🌱Spitalfields Screamer pizza (right of the third picture) w/ roasted peppers, red onion, basil, field mushrooms, vegan mozzarella & chilli


✏️There was a generous amount of toppings on here but again, the chilli didn’t add much heat, the mushroom flavour got a bit lost and I’m not a big fan of peppers so they didn’t quite work for me. I did love the red onion, I think it’s an ingredient that works so well on pizzas.

🌱Wild Thyme Pie w/ mushroom, leek, spinach, red onion, rosemary & thyme


✏️Sorry I forgot to get a photo of the inside of this pie but this was the standout dish of the day, for me! The pastry on this pie was right up my street – Thick so it held together well but melted in your mouth. Amazing! I wouldn’t have expected the chutney dip to pair well but it was beautiful, the wedges were tasty and on first glance, I thought that the pie might be dry but it wasn’t at all! Absolutely loved it.

🌱Vegan wedges w/ red onion, jalapeños & vegan mozzarella


✏️I love anything with potatoes in and the wedges were cooked really well. However, there was a LOT of vegan cheese on here and it did dominate. I think less cheese and the addition of a tomato sauce (maybe a salsa) would work well here. Again, loved the red onions and jalapeños but it didn’t seem to all come together the way it should have.

🌱Totally Tempeh salad w/ bulgar wheat, tenderstem broccoli, spinach, roasted sweet potato, mixed seeds, cucumber, tahini ranch dressing & smoked paprika hummus


✏️This just isn’t my kind of thing, personally. Whilst the tempeh does work better in this than it did on its own, I didn’t love the earthy flavours and the paprika hummus was too deep and smoky for me. Chris enjoyed this though!

🌱Tempeh & tahini bites


✏️I didn’t enjoy these, they were quite plasticine-like in texture. I didn’t mind the flavour but the texture really put me off.

🌱Vegan Sharing Board w/ olives, pickles, butterbean aioli, smoked paprika hummus, tomato chutney & sourdough sticks


✏️This just felt like it was missing a few things. It didn’t feel very exciting and perhaps more of a range of dips would have livened it up a little bit. The bread was also a bit too tough for me. I did absolutely love the tzatziki dip though!

🌱Vegan Brownie w/ cider & berry coulis & vegan ice cream


✏️This wasn’t a bad dish but it was too dry for me. I wanted more moisture in the brownie itself and it had a strong, bitter dark chocolate flavour which isn’t my thing. The raspberry coulis was also quite bitter which was too intense for me. Wouldve preferred it a bit sweeter.

🌱Cider poached pear w/ vegan ice cream


✏️I would never normally order this from a menu but it was SO GOOD. One of the best desserts I’ve had in a long time! There was a strong taste of cinnamon which I love, the pear was perfectly poached and the ice cream was very realistic.

I also want to point out that they had a really nice drink here called Gospel Green which was vegan friendly and was a mix of cider and Prosecco, although it tasted a lot more of cider. I enjoyed it as a nice alternative to cider. I don’t know much about drinks but it felt a bit lighter than regular cider.
