On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me… Vouchers for an absolute feeeeeast 😍🎄 {ad}
I don’t know about you but preeetty much all I want for Christmas is food (no surprises there) 🎅🏼 This year, rather than buying gifts, my family & I are celebrating by going out for a nice meal together 🥰
If you’re on the same page and are in the market for a food themed gift, take a look at the @diningoutgiftcard 🙂 It can be used in 1,600+ venues across the UK including:
🍴 @harvesteruk
🍴 @millerandcarter
🍴 @vintage_inns
🍴 @oneillspubs
🍴 @sizzlingpubs
🍴 @allbarone
🍴 @brownsbrasserie
…and more!
It can also be used in @tobycarverywhich is where we used ours ☺️ I’ve heard rumours about how great Toby’s vegan roast offering is and I finally got to taste it 🤤
Not only is the roast available EVERY DAY (um, the dream), it’ll only set you back between £7 – £8.50. That gets you a plate piled as high as you like with potatoes, veg, gravy etc 😱
I speak a lot about how important it is for vegan food to be affordable & accessible and Toby’s is nailing that 👏🏼💰
We tucked into:
🌱Roast mushroom & ale pie
💰£8.49
💭 Beaut, thick pastry but there was too much of it and not enough of the delicious mushroom filling. The sprouts & carrots were overcooked but I loved the stuffing, cabbage & peas. Gravy was thick, potatoes tasty but needed to be a bit crispier
❓Order again? Yes, w/ changes
🌱Lentil & sage lasagna
💰£8.49
💭 Creamy, cheesy, warm & comforting. Lovely deep, red wine flavours
❓Order again? Yes
🏆Fave dish
🌱Apple pie with soy custard
💰£4.19
💭 Generous portion, apple tasted tart, custard was sweet & creamy. Lovely!
❓Order again? Yes

Surely as a vegan you shouldn’t be supporting a business funded mainly by people munching om animal carcasses that were treated so brutally before being slaughtered…
I’m very open about supporting non-vegan restaurants as well as vegan ones. I won’t go into it all here but there’s a post under my ‘Thought Pieces’ section which gives a little more detail on why I do. Basically, it’s all about supply and demand and tackling the privilege of veganism and the social stigma around it. If no vegans had supported Flora’s vegan range before they were vegan, the chances are they wouldn’t have gone 100% vegan but look at them now!
