“What the FATTOUSH is this glorious spread?”, I hear you ask. 😍🌱
Well, allow me to introduce you to this absolute fitty of a spread created by the wonderful @whatthefattoush team 😍 (Swipe for some serious flatlay action). This was my first experience of Palestinian food and so I thought it’| be rude not to try the entire menu, ya know? 🤷🏼♀️
I wolfed down:
🥙 Crispy falafel with mint cashew cream and pink pickled turnips
🥔 Potato Kibbeh – Potato & bulgar wheat shells filled with sultanas, pine nuts & parsley
🍛 South Levantine Stew (GF) with slow cooked aubergines, peppers, onions & tomatoes
🥔 Batata Harare (GF) – Spiced, sautéed potatoes with zhoug (green chilli sauce)
🌱 Roast squash & crispy sage (GF) with toasted almonds and a tahini dressing
🌱 Trio of dips with Palestinian olive oil and Arabic bread: Muttabal (spicy aubergine), Muhammara (red pepper, walnut & pomegranate molasses) and Hummus .
These girls make everything from scratch and you can absolutely tell! ❤️ The highlights for me were the sweet, creamy, tomato based stew, the perfectly sautéed potatoes and the light and tangy, yet sweet potato kibbeh 😍🌱 The flavours are big and so are the portion sizes (my kinda gals). To top it off, they are only just starting out and yet they donate 10% of their profits to charities “doing sound things for Palestinian people” 👏🏼
If you get a chance, pop in and support this 100% vegan business who are whipping up really impressive food 🌱 These legends are currently residing at @drinksatpamela in Dalston, which is an adorable little venue anyway. Also, a dangerous three minutes from my house, so no doubt I’ll see you down there! 🌱
