Young Vegans – Camden

Clare’s original review

Some things were just made to go together: Bonnie & Clyde πŸ‘« Burgers & Fries πŸ” 🍟 Cookies and (Vegan) Milk πŸͺπŸ₯› and, of course – Pie & Mash πŸ₯§πŸ₯” (Invite)

@youngvegans in Camden serve up the dreamiest of comforting pies in perfect little pastries, surrounded by creamy mash and topped with a heavenly sauce πŸ₯§πŸ˜ I opted for the β€˜cheeseburger’ pie (of course I went for the most burger like option) which is pastry stuffed with a big ol’ vegan burger patty, topped with crispy onions and a red wine gravy 🀀 This is such a cool concept and although the patty was slightly too chunky for my personal taste, it was delicious πŸ˜‹

I also grabbed some of the mac & cheese I’d been hearing so much about as well as some of the cheesy fries πŸ§€πŸŸ This is vegan comfort food at it’s finest. The mac has more than a generous serving of nutritional yeast to make it super cheesy, it’s also really creamy and very moreish. It was perhaps a tiny bit grainy but I still really enjoyed it β™₯️ I refuse to believe that the sauce on the cheesy fries isn’t laced with something because it’s SO ADDICTIVE. The β€˜bacon’ bits on top of both dishes work really well. There’s just the right amount πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

Next time, I plan to try the vegan chicken parmigiana pie with a marinara sauce, the Katsu curry pie with a Japanese curry sauce or the all day breakfast pie with scrambled tofu, seitan sausage, caramelised onions and smoked beans πŸ₯§ πŸ₯§ πŸ₯§ 🀀

The prices are reasonable too – Β£7 for pie & mash, Β£5 for mac & Β£5 for cheesy fries and trust me, you’re not leaving hungry πŸ‘πŸΌ

The lovely team were kind enough to invite me and gave me this food on a complimentary basis. No payment was received and all opinions, as always, are honest and my own.
