I’m constantly impressed by the range of vegan options at @oldspitalfieldsmarket 👏🏼 Almost every stall offers at least one dish that us vegans can tuck into, and there are some super unique, clever chefs and vendors 😍 But on Friday night, I found my new favourite dish – @dumplingshack’s vegan dumplings 🥟 I’d heard the rumours, I knew of the tales but I finally got to try them for myself, and oh lawwwwd 😱 They were everything I’d hoped for and more 😍
These delightful little parcels are stuffed with vermicelli, celery, carrots, shiitake mushrooms & tofu, boiled and served with a soy garlic dressing 🥟 Sounds simple enough but these little dumplings are proof that it’s all in the technique 👌🏼 The texture is perfection. They’re soft but they’re thick and they’ve got bite. They don’t fall apart when you pick them up and the fresh ingredients all work perfectly together. Plus, that sauce is somethin’ else! 🤤 At £5 for a portion of six, these are such great value and @jolley_chris and I are proud to announce that we ate 18 between us 😋 I’ve also been told that adding chilli sauce is a game changer too. I’ll be doing that next time!
If you haven’t been down to @oldspitalfieldsmarket, it’s definitely worth a visit! I would also recommend the tofu bao bun from @yum_bun, the vegan sushi taco from @sugoijpn, the chana masala from @indigostfood and the Ethiopian food from @merkamo.ethiopian ♥️
