There’s no “hue” you’ll want to miss out on this restaurant ♥️ {ad – press sample}
There a vegan Vietnamese joint in Hoxton serving up more vegan dishes than you could even imagine in your wildest dreams 💭
The team are also the most beautiful, generous humans 🥰 They were so friendly, humble and generous.
Here are the dishes we tucked into. I have limited space here so visit my website for a more in depth review:
🌱Vegan crackers
💰£2
💭Light, non-greasy, tasty!
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes
🌱Caramelised aubergine tofu
💰£8.90
💭Really tasty – Loved the combination of aubergine and tofu
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes
🌱Slow cooked caramelised “fish” and green banana in clay pot
💰£10.50
💭Beautiful flavours and the “fish” was incredibly realistic! Also enjoyed the soft texture of the green banana
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes
🌱Xoigac fruit steamed sticky rice
💰£2.50
💭I’ve never tried this fruit before but after this rice dish, I really want to. This was beautiful! It has quite an unusual flavour which I loved.
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes
🌱Bun hue – Spicy noodle soup w/ “ham” & mixed veg
💰£9.50
💭This was so tasty! I loved the comforting, flavoursome broth which had just the right amount of spice. It was also packed with veggies and vegan meats. Worked really well!
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes
🏆 Fave dish
🌱Sweet & sour spare “ribs”
💰£8.90
💭These were great! I wouldn’t say they were super similar to ribs but they were nice in their own right. They had a chewy texture and a really nice flavour. The sauce was thinner and more fragrant than other sweet and sour dishes I’ve had. It also had a bit of a kick to it.
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes
🏆 Fave dish
🌱Mustard green rolls filled with “meat”, mushrooms, noodles
💰£5.70
💭I wasn’t expecting these to be so tasty but I really enjoyed them. Flavoursome, fresh and stuffed with delicious mushrooms
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes
🌱Grilled aubergine w/ tofu, mushrooms, onions & shallots
💰£10.50
💭Another really tasty dish. I loved the soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture of the aubergine.
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes
🌱Salt & chilli tofu & mushrooms
💰£7.50
💭I really enjoyed this dish! The tofu was soft and had a nice crisp on the outside
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes
🌱Crispy spring rolls
💰£5.50
💭I love spring rolls and these were tasty. Crisp and not greasy, well stuffed too,
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes
🌱Special fried rice
💰£9.50
💭This was alright but perhaps a touch more salty and I didn’t love it as much as the sticky rice so I’d opt for that instead
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? No
🌱Betel leaf grill with “meat”, black fungus, shiitake mushrooms w/ vermicelli noodles
💰£7.50
💭These were so unusual! I wasn’t sure what to expect but they’re quite unique and I enjoyed them a lot
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes
🌱”Fish” cakes made from yams, mushrooms, seaweed, black pepper & dill
💰£7.50
💭I imagined these would be similar to fish cakes I grew up with but they were deep fried. I didn’t mind them but they weren’t my favourite fish
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? No
🌱Tofu summer rolls
💰£5.50
💭This wasn’t my favourite dish. I liked the dipping sauce but thought the rolls themselves needed a bit more flavour
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? No
