Dim-sum-body say there’s a new fully vegan Chinese spot in town? 🥟 {ad – press sample}
Yes, yes they did! Meet @tofuveganlondon – Upper Street’s newest member 👋🏼 They opened last week and I love it so much I’ve already eaten with them three times 😍
London has been crying out for more vegan Chinese spots to join the likes of @mao_chow @kaykayfood & @lovinghutarchway and this is a very welcome addition to the crew 👏🏼
Here are some of the dishes I’ve tried (the first eight are in the first pic):
🐟 Sliced “fish” in sizzling oil
🥟 Signature dumplings
🦆 Peking “duck” with lotus leaf buns
🍗 Gungbao “chicken”
🍜 Special fried noodles, Sichuan style
🐠 Twice cooked fish slices
🍄 Pan fried king oyster mushrooms
🌱 Mapo tofu
🍗 Cantonese sweet & sour “chicken” (pic 2)
🍚 Special fried rice (pic 2)
🌱 Salt & pepper tofu (pic 2)
🥟 Wontons in a spicy sauce (pic 2)
🍠 Sweet potato noodles with slivered vegetables in a spicy sesame sauce
🍖“Man & wife” slices in a spicy sauce – a Chengdu street snack
🍲 Sour and hot soup
💰 The prices range from around £8 – £15 for a main. The portions are good but as there’s such a wide and varied menu, I’d love to see some smaller portions at cheaper prices to allow you to try even more!
🤷🏼♀️ Visit again? Yes, yes, yes. This is *exactly* what we need more of! The food is great, team are lovely, venue is adorable
🏆 Favourites? So many to choose from! I loved the sliced “fish” in sizzling oil, gungbao “chicken”, mapo tofu, sweet & sour “chicken” and wontons in a spicy sauce
