London’s Best Vegan-Friendly Date Night Restaurants

Advertisements

We endured “romantic” walks in -3 degree temperatures, we attempted Facetime dates but I think I speak for all of us when I say, THANK GOD we can get back to restaurants again.

So, whether you’re scoping out the best place to impress on your first date or you’ve forgotten your partner’s birthday and you’re now panicking, I’ve compiled a list of some of my favourite venues for couples to get cute and cosy in. Or you could just take yourself on a date to be honest, more food for you.

Please note, I’ll be updating this list constantly so check back for updates!

Without further ado, I present to you, a restaurant for any date you can dream of. Oh and scroll down to the bottom for a handy little map!

Vegan Planet Camden

If you remember Dou-Dou, the Chinese buffet that closed down, you’ll be pleased to know that they reopened with new branding, a new location & a new a la carte menu 😍 @veganplanetcamden is a fully vegan Chinese spot with a huge menu. If you love Tofu Vegan (and you KNOW I do), you’re going to love it here too. The menu is fairly similar, just as extensive and the quality is just as good. So, now we have another amazing vegan Chinese spot! 🇨🇳 It’s worth noting though that they don’t serve alcohol on the premises.

The “Fancy But Affordable” Venues

Apricity

One of my fave restaurants in London. From Tredwell’s to All’s Well, I’ve been a big fan of Chantelle Nicholson’s food for a while and zero-waste restaurant Apricity is everything I hoped it would be (and maybe even a little bit more). Nestled away on an expensive-looking road, paces away from hectic Bond Street, the shabby-chic restaurant is a haven of laid-back serenity. The staff were friendly, the food is beautiful – creative and delicious and the sustainability aspect is mega impressive – the shabby chic style is made up of recycled materials including the chairs which are crafted out of coke bottles.

🍽 Cuisine: Hyper-seasonal, local, vegetable focused food
🌱100% Vegan
🌾Gluten Free Options? Yes (70% of menu is GF, rest can be adapted)
☀️ Outdoor Dining? Yes
🐶 Dog Friendly? No
♿ Wheelchair Friendly? No
👍 I recommend: The five course tasting menu

Plates
If you’ve never heard of Plates before, you’re in for a treat. The team have just found a new home at swanky, modern, concrete-designed bar, very cooly named ‘Untitled Bar. They’re all about sustainability and food innovation. Chef @kirk_haworth is insanely talented and a true leader in plant-based cooking. After being diagnosed with Lyme’s, he adopted a plant-based diet to reduce symptoms. He’s worked in Michelin starred restaurants around the world and you may recognise him from Great British Menu. The food is sensational – the attention to detail is incredible and it’s clear how passionate the team are about injecting creativity into their food with unreal texture & flavour combos. The only dish I wasn’t keen on was the fragrant carrots – just wasn’t my thing – a bit too veg heavy and too sour in parts. This venue could cater to anything from a casual night in the garden eating bar snacks and sipping cocktails to a slightly pricier special occasion.
