Welcome back to the series where I hunt for the best vegan food around the UK, as recommended by you!
This week, I visit England’s first ever vegan hotel – @beckhallmalham (press stay) in the Yorkshire dales, run by the lovely Louise and Andy.
💭 These guys made the decision to convert their hotel to a fully plant-based hotel in December 2023 so this is all very new still! In light of this, I wasn’t expecting the menu to be as varied and impressive as it was. I personally thought work was still needed on some dishes such as the Indian thali needed more authentic flavours but I was really impressed by the Sunday roast and especially by the afternoon tea. The staff here were so warm and welcoming (as were all of the guests we met) and the hotel itself is nice and cosy. My only feedback on the rooms is that I would’ve preferred a proper door to the bathroom but otherwise, it was comfortable and nicely decorated. The setting is unreal – this is such a nice location for a weekend away filled with country walks and cosy pubs. Overall, a really nice spot – I’d go back for sure!
