JAMIE OLIVER’S COOKERY SCHOOL 👩🍳
This weekend, my boyfriend and I learnt how to make ravioli at @jamieolivercookeryschool on Holloway Road. This was a bday gift from my brother which we finally got round to using 🎁
We had so much fun! There were about eight other people there and everyone was so friendly. The teacher, Suzie, was super helpful, knowledgeable and laid back.
💰 It cost £64 each for a class for both of us (£128 total) and an extra £30 for a bottle of Prosecco which was optional 🥂
🍴 We chose the ravioli making class but they have tonnes of different classes including North Indian Thali, Vietnamese street food and Thai feasts.
🌱 Not all of the classes can be veganised so just check before booking. They have a filter for vegan-friendly classes on their website which is useful. Suzie’s demonstration was done with eggs and cheese but she was helpful in letting us know how we needed to adapt our method to make the recipe vegan and she was on hand to help if we had any questions
⏰ The class ran for two hours which was enough time for us to learn, cook and eat but it did feel a tad rushed so it would’ve been nice to have an extra half hour
📍The venue itself is easy to get to and is set up really nicely but we found ourselves in the corner which was a shame as we didn’t have loads of space which did prove tricky at times (especially when you’re rolling out long sheets of pasta)
🍝 The lesson was great. Suzie’s demos were easy to follow and we came away feeling like we could confidently cook ravioli from scratch. We made butternut squash ravioli with a lemon and sage sauce which was tasty but I think I’d add in a bit more next time to give it a bit more flavour and make up for the cheese being omitted! We went hard with the greens and walnuts to cover up our slightly floppy pasta 😂 but with practice, I reckon we can nail it. Can’t wait to invest in a little pasta machine!
🤷🏼♀️ Visit again? Yes – I really enjoyed it but it would probably only be for a special occasion because it’s quite pricey. I’d also request a space that wasn’t in the corner
