Sticky Sesame Chicken

Get ready for a fan-clucking-tastic recipe 🐔⁣⁣
I’ve got three words which are certain to get ya drooling: Sticky sesame “chicken” 🤤 🐔 It’s easy, it’s hearty, and it’s bursting with flavour 😍 Oh and of course, no chickens were harmed in the making! 🐥 ⁣⁣
I adapted this from an amazing recipe by @chocolatecoveredkatie for sticky cauliflower. I’ll pop her original recipe in my bio for reference but mine is slightly different ♥️ Here’s what you’ll need:⁣⁣
🐔 190g vegan chicken (I used salt & pepper pieces)⁣⁣
🌱 1/3 cup soy sauce⁣⁣
🍁 1/4 cup pure maple syrup⁣⁣
🌱 1/4 cup rice vinegar⁣⁣
🧄 1 tbsp minced garlic⁣⁣
🌱 1 ½ tsp toasted sesame oil⁣⁣
🌱 ½ tsp ground ginger⁣⁣
🌱 1.5 tbsp corn flour⁣⁣
💦 1/4 cup water⁣⁣
🌱 Sesame seeds ⁣⁣
🌱 Spring onions⁣⁣
Here’s what ya do:⁣⁣
🌱 In a saucepan, whisk together soy sauce, maple syrup, vinegar, garlic, sesame oil & ginger. Then, bring to the boil⁣⁣
🌱 While you wait, stir together cornstarch & water until fully dissolved⁣⁣
🌱 Slowly whisk the cornstarch & water mixture into the saucepan, once it has boiled. Turn the heat to medium and cook for 2 mins, stirring more frequently once it returns to a boil. Cook until thick.⁣⁣
🌱 Add the “chicken” to the sauce and heat for a couple of mins⁣⁣
🌱 Sprinkle with sesame seeds & spring onions and serve!⁣⁣

🥦 We also served ours with a side of broccoli sautéed in soy, garlic & sesame ⁣
Let me know if you’re going to give this one a go 🤤
