I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again – fresh fish is one of the only things I occasionally miss. I’ve tried many brands and never been blown away. I do like smoked carrot but miss the texture of salmon 🥕 So, I was over the bloomin’ moon when vegan supermarket @greenbay_uk sent me some vegan smoked salmon to try! 👀

💭 This isn’t cheap by any stretch of the imagination, so it’s more of a one-off treat than a regular purchase but it is very clever and definitely the most realistic smoked salmon substitute I’ve tried 🐟 Taste-wise, it’s pretty spot on, with that distinctive salty, smoky flavour. It’s not quiiiite as strong as real salmon but it’s very impressive 👏🏼 🐟 Texture-wise, it’s not identical – slimey but not flaky. It’s a bit more thick, dense, soft & squidgey (a bit like the meat you get at a hotel buffet 😄) BUT that didn’t bother me massively and once on the bagel, it wasn’t as noticeable. I added @nushfoods cream cheese, lemon juice & fresh dill
🌱 Also, this salmon is 100% natural with high nutritional quality – rich in Omega-3. You can eat it fresh but also pan-fried, which I’m keen to try next!
