Is it too tirama”soon” to be thinking about dessert? SAID NO ONE EVER. 🗯⁣⁣
Tiramisu is an Italian dessert which became popular in the 1980s 🇮🇹 It‘s made using marscapone, eggs, alcohol, espresso coffee & ladyfinger biscuits 🥮 So, this veganised version is ofc not traditional.⁣⁣
Without so many of the traditional ingredients, I was dubious that a simple, vegan version was possible but I found one by @veganonboard that looked interesting!⁣⁣
It only uses SEVEN INGREDIENTS and the main one is silken tofu. WHAAAT?! 😱 I followed the recipe fairly closely and was impressed! ⁣⁣
Things to note: It doesn’t set as well as a regular tiramisu, so whilst the layers are there, it does all mix together but the flavours are great and as a quick, easy dessert, it’s a good option! ⁣⁣
Anyway, without further ado, here’s what you’ll need:⁣⁣
🥮 Ingredients – Serves 8⁣⁣
▫️600 g silken tofu⁣⁣
▫️2 cans coconut milk full fat⁣⁣ (refrigerate it first to get the creamy layer on top)
▫️8 tbsp sugar⁣⁣
▫️400 g plain biscuits (rich tea, or similar)⁣⁣
▫️ 2 cups coffee (very strong – I used something like 6-8 tsp coffee)⁣⁣
▫️Cocoa powder⁣⁣
▫️Dark chocolate⁣⁣
🥮 Method⁣
I’ve put the link in my bio to the original @veganonboard recipe which also has some tips and tricks. Go and show them some love if you enjoy it ♥️
