I tucked into:
🍴 A Spanish Tortilla made with potatoes, onions, spinach & chickpea flour mix with almond milk – My “dish of the night”. It’s lighter and less stodgy than the regular version and the aioli is to DIE for 🤤
🍄 Black truffle & wild mushroom croquettes made using almond milk & olive oil – Nice and creamy!
🍔 Vegan slider burger with homemade “chorizo”, mushrooms, padron peppers & red onions in a brioche bun (Obvs still managed to find a burger). Loved this – the sweet bun contrasted by the spiced “chorizo” and the smokey mushrooms was delicious! I took the peppers out though as I’m not a huge padron pepper fan
🍅 Escalivada with roasted red peppers & aubergine on sourdough toast with vegan aioli – Nice smokey flavour but would’ve better with less bread 🍞 .
🍅 Empanadillas – Vegan pastries stuffed with ratatouille and a soya yoghurt mint sauce. Light, crispy and bursting with sweet tomato flavours
🍅 Tomato tartare with avocado, tomatoes, soy sauce & wasabi dressing. Not traditionally Spanish but light & refreshing
🍆 Vegetable tempura – Loved that the batter had a sweetness to itl
Spanish vegan food seems to be a bit of a rarity but it needn’t be! 🇪🇸 With a few simple ingredient swaps, most dishes can be easily “veganised” 🌱
Cosy, fairy-light filled venue and the team have clearly put time and effort into creating this menu 👏🏼
