I’m no expert but any means but I love Caribbean food and really enjoy discovering new spots which offer decent vegan options, so it was refreshing to find a Caribbean venue which is totally vegan.
Carivegan (see what they did there) has been on my list of places to visit for ages. I finally made it down there and really enjoyed the food. There were some really nice flavours and the portions are hearty to say the least. It’s more of a takeaway spot than a restaurant although there is some casual seating.
There was no menu when we visited so I got the “everything” bowl which costs £13 and is packed with whichever dishes they have available on the day. Mine was loaded with curry jackfruit, chickpea curry, lentils, ackee, red pea stew, mac & cheese and probably a couple of things I’ve forgotten too! I also got the patties which I definitely didn’t need but BOY did I enjoy.
While it’s great to see a spot offering vegan food in South London, I’m jealous that I’m not in the delivery radius for this spot. Has anyone been? What did you think?
