In episode ten, I visit legendary veggie restaurant @terreaterrebrighton (press meal) which has been around for 30 years!
🍴 Terre A Tapas – Onigiri oishii kinoko, sage & onion corn hushpuppy plumps, smoked mushroom & tomato croquettes, karekatsu smoked tofu, charred aubergine zhuganoush & sesame ginger carrot & kohlrabi salad 💰£23.95pp
🌱 Sneaky Peeking Steamers – Steamed buns stuffed with szechuan mapo tofu 💰£22
🍄 We Are The Champignons – Crispy fried potato rosti, topped with king oyster & shimeji mushrooms, jerusalem artichoke puree, artichoke crisps, truffled mushroom jus, crispy sage & sage oil 💰23.50
🍫 Sweet Sharing Plate – cacao mousse on hazelnut praline & chocolate shortbread, polenta orange olive oil cakes with juniper damson & vanilla chantilly, mini cinnamon sugar coated churros with a chocolate salted caramel dipping pot and vodka cherries. Creme de Cacao Brandy Alexander milkshakes, blood orange sorbet and raspberry truffles 💰£17pp
💭 Terre a Terre describes itself as being all about quality ingredients served with flair, creativity and playful exuberance which was made clear with every dish, from the beautiful starter platter to the dessert board. I like how creative and unique this menu is and that it’s a little bit over the top – it’s refreshing to see some out of the box options. There were a couple of dishes where I think improvements were needed (e.g. churros were quite dry & tough) and some dishes felt quite pricey but I suppose this is a reflection of the quality of the ingredients. Overall, I enjoyed most of the food and the experience
