A few people have messaged me recommending this dish from @livejoli, suggesting that it’s the best street food in London, which is a big call. So, of course I had to check it out for myself!

🍴 Spicy vegan jackfruit rendang with Pajeri salad and coconut rice (or roti canai)
💰 £12
💭 I know Borough Market is known for being expensive but £12 did feel a little steep for this dish in terms of size. However, I don’t mind paying a bit more for good quality food, and the food was tasty. There were some really lovely flavours in the rendang – the galangal in particular stood out to me, and it all paired really nicely with the sweetness from the pineapple. It said it was spicy but I actually wanted a bit more of a kick personally! 🔥 The star of the show though is the texture of the jackfruit – soft, stringy (I mean this as a compliment) meaty – enough to convert even the biggest of jackfruit skeptics. All in all, a really tasty dish – perhaps not sealing my absolute top spot but definitely up there.
