{press meal} From meaty dishes like spicy pork and beef bibimbap to more veggie-packed dishes like kimchi pancakes and japchae, the team at @mukbap_ldn serves up the best and most popular Korean dishes but without any of the animal products.

Here’s what I tried:
🍲Bibimbap “beef” 💰£12
🍜Japchae (sweet potato noodles) 💰£8.50
🍲Tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) 💰£10
🥞 Kimchi pancake 💰 £9
🍲Spicy “pork” with rice 💰£9.50
🌱Kimbap (rice roll) 💰£11.50
🥟Veggie dumplings 💰£4 / £7.50 (3/6 pieces)
🌱Crispy fried seaweed rolls 💰£4.5 / £8.5 (3/6 pieces)

💭The restaurant itself is small and unassuming but it’s cute – cosily seats about 15 people. I fell in love with owners Grace and Michael – they were so warm and welcoming. I felt instantly at home and it became apparent whilst I was there that they’ve made a lot of people feel that way. Lots of people were coming in to chat whilst ordering their food. In terms of the food, I’d like to start by saying that Korean food is easily in my top ten cuisines so I’m buzzing that we finally have a vegan Korean restaurant in the city. I really enjoyed this entire meal. It’s very rare that I’d happily order every dish I try again but I really would here. There’s a nice mix of meat-substitutes and vegetable heavy dishes. One thing I really like is that the team said they don’t water down their food. The spicier dishes were my fave as I love a bit of heat but don’t fear – there are some milder dishes too! This place has become one of my faves and I can’t wait to revisit next time I’m in Shoreditch!

🏆Faves: Tteokbokki and spicy pork but I would genuinely order them all again
