🍐 Pre-pear yourself to get oxo-cited, everyone because Oxo Tower has announced that it is taking part in Veganuary for the first time ever!🌱🎉
For the second time in one week, I was lucky enough to be treated to outstanding service and breathtaking views of London 👀 whilst sipping on a glass of red 🍷 and tucking into scrumptious food.. Who on earth do I think I am?! 💁🏼♀️
🎩 Fair play to the Oxo Tower team because it’s clear, from this menu that they’re thinking outside of the box 👏🏼The flavours and textures are really unique and it’s so refreshing. I must say, some of the dishes I really loved and there were others that I thought needed some work 🤷🏼♀️
First up, we munched on the hash brown with spiced fig rolls, grilled soya bean curd & onion sauce and the panko-crusted tofu with citrus croutons, blood orange jellies & green gazpacho. Both of the dishes were nice enough but I’m a fan of big, bold flavours and I wanted to taste something a bit more punchier 💥
Next, came the bulgur wheat and golden raisin-stuffed pumpkin, red and white cabbage, lemon & pine nut ‘mayonnaise and the buckwheat pancake with berbere lentils and a beetroot & potato salad 🥞 The pancake dish didn’t do it for me – I found it a bit dry. However, the pumpkin dish was right up my street!
To finish off our extravagant meal, we nibbled on the apple cinnamon cake with hazelnut ‘ice cream’ 🍦 and a caramel pear with chocolate sponge. I don’t normally have the sweetest tooth but both dishes were light and soooo moreish!
Overall, the service at Oxo Tower is exceptional – professional, friendly and attentive. The presentation of the dishes is perfect and the view over the Thames from the restaurant is just dreamy. Props to the team for putting together a creative menu which differs from any other around at the moment. Sometimes vegans want a bit of fancy dining too! 🙌🏼 🌱
