Say Bonjour to @refuelyoursoullondon 👋🏼🇫🇷 {press meal}
I belieeeeve (correct me if I’m wrong) that this is the only restaurant in London serving up vegan versions of French comfort food classics 🥖 which is no easy task!
Owner Nabila hails from Paris and has previously worked as a chef in the Eiffel Tower and at Ottolenghi 🙌🏼 Everything here is vegan, from the cocktails to the food and she focuses on serving up some of her fave dishes from home. The prices are a little steep but when the cuisine calls for lots of vegan cheese and meat, it’s to be expected 🧀 they make all cheeses & meats themselves!
Here’s what I ate:
🧀 Vegan Camembert
💰£12
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes. Gooey, creamy, flavoursome
🧀 Croque monsieur w/ roasted potatoes
💰 £12
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes, so creamy & indulgent. Liked the smoky “ham”
🥘”Veal” Blanquette
💰£15
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes. So unusual but enjoyed it. Strong mustard & pepper flavours. Homemade “chicken” was fab!
🌯Grec burrito w/ homemade feta & fries
💰£9
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Maybe. I enjoyed but preferred other dishes. Think it was the meat that I didn’t love. The feta was great though
🥘Bistro lentils & sausages with carrots & onions cooked in wine
💰£16
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes, good depth of flavour and loved the meaty sausages. Proper winter warmer
🥘Le Neve Cassoulet w/ white beans, tomatoes, garlic & smoked sausages
💰£20
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Maybe. Liked the flavours but a touch too salty & expensive
🌱”Foie gras” & onion confit w/ bread
💰£12
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes, I’ve had a few before and this is the best! Rich, creamy and the confit compliments it perfectly
