It’s “thyme” to kick off roast season 🥔
As soon as the temperature drops, my inbox floods with questions about where you can find the best vegan roast 👀
My winters are also dedicated to finding the best one in town. There are a few good options and I’m finding that with every year that passes, more and more venues are adding a vegan roast to their menu. Hoorah 🥳
But it’s difficult to look past @thespreadeaglelondon as one of the best to have arrived on London’s Vegan scene over the last few years. What’s even better is that the entire venue is vegan so you can also get your fave cocktails and desserts fully vegan too.
I’ve had this one many times but realise I’ve never shared it with you so here are the details of the one I had yesterday. Please note, they also do a nut roast and a pot roast celeriac with crackling 🥰
🌱Vegan beet wellington w/ roast potatoes, roasted carrots, gravy, seasonal greens & a yorkshire pudding

💭 What I love the most about this roast is that you get pretty much all of the traditional trimmings, bar stuffing. Vegan yorkies are no easy feat but you can find them here. They’re not as light and airy as regular ones – more cakey and a little dense but it’s so nice to enjoy the experience of them again. The potatoes are nice and crisp and also massive! The Wellington is earthy but I like that flavour. It’s got a nice, soft texture and I really enjoy the pastry too. The gravy could be thicker and the cauli cheese could be cheesier but all in all, it’s a nice roast and one I find myself going back for time and time again
💰Not the cheapest roast in town but the portions are quite hearty
