A porkless pie so good it should be ill”eagle” 🦅 {ad – press sample}
Guess what, with @clubmexicana now focused on its Soho store, 100% vegan @thespreadeaglelondon is spreading its wings and has its own menu 🌱🍻
Here’s what I tried:
🍔 Buffalo burger – Hen of the woods, hot sauce & blue cheese mayo
💰£10.50
💭Really enjoyed this juicy burger! The mushroom worked well, though I think there needed to be more of it as at points you only got the coating (though the coating was beaut). Loved the contrast of the hot sauce with the mayo. Just needs to be a bit meatier (for want of a better word)

🏆 Fave dish
🥗 Caesar salad w/ polenta croutons, vegan parmesan & garlic bread
💰£12
💭 I’d prefer the lettuce chopped up & smaller, crunchier croutons. Dressing was tasty but a tiny bit sickly. Wasn’t sure I’d love the addition of asparagus but I did. Also thought the cheese came through well. I would’ve loved one more thing to make it substantial – vegan chicken maybe. Love garlic bread but it’s a bit random!

🌱Seasonal croquettes (I had mine w/o the truffle mayo)
💰£6
💭These were brought out for us as a surprise. They were tasty but needed a dip and I don’t eat truffles anymore after I was told some synthetic oils have hints of truffle.

🧀Ploughman’s lunch w/ a porkless pie, cheese, pickles, radish, tomato, celery, apple, piccalilli
💰£13
💭 The pie was the standout – so clever! It even had that jelly layer. The pastry was cracking – thick & buttery. Paired well with the relish too! The Gorgonzola blue was great, I’ve had it before and think it’s quite realistic. I thought the board needed more cheese and less fruit & veg
🤷🏼♀️Order again? Yes, w/ changes
