Welp, now I know why @cafevangogh01 was named that way… because their vegan roast dinner is a work of bloody ART 🎨 🌱 (Invite)
A roast is a very important Sunday ritual and I’ll be honest, that was one thing I was terrified I would have to ‘give up’ when I went vegan. Well, I was wrong. So wrong l🙅🏼♀️
@cafevangogh01 in Oval/Stockwell is a 100% vegan restaurant, whipping up absolute roasty beauts as well as other absolutely divine dishes 😍 Not only that, they’re a not-for-profit cafe which means they reinvest their profits back into the local community with dedicated programmes including food & nutrition workshops 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 .
I was invited down to tuck into:
🌱 The nut & butternut squash Wellington with pesto, served with red cabbage, gravy, roasties, carrots, parsnips, beetroots & brussel sprouts. This is a big ol’ portion and has that comforting Sunday lunch feel about it. Everything is fresh and well cooked, especially those tatoes 😍 The Wellington itself is delicious ♥️ One of the best vegan roasts in London, easily!
🌱 Highlanders potato pancake with goulash – So unusual! This was my first ever potato pancake and I loved it! Again, another sizeable portion and a lovely thick pancake with a unique texture. Despite the size, it felt light and was complemented perfectly by the juicy tomato sauce 🍅 😋
🌱 Pumpkin & roasted garlic hummus with sourdough. Whilst the bread was a little tough, the hummus had a lovely flavour 👌🏼
🌱Butternut squash mac. By now, you probably know about my mac & cheese obsession. Whilst this wasn’t super cheesy, it was beautiful in its own right. Creamy, sweet and totally moreish 🤤
The food is beautiful and it’s a relaxed, cosy little place which oozes good vibes. If you’re looking for somewhere to roast tomorrow, look no further! 👀 .
The lovely team were kind enough to invite me and gave me this food on a complimentary basis. No payment was received and all opinions, as always, are honest and my own.
