It’s a”bao” time we got more vegan Indonesian food in London 🇮🇩 {ad – press sample}
Former Head of Innovation at @wagamama_uk & Masterchef contestant @jasmin_ayling is behind @rendang.and.rice (now known as Toko Bali) serving up traditional Indonesian family recipes 🥘
I went down to taste the goods! Here’s what we ate:
🌱Ve-dang – vegan rendang made w: pulled king oyster mushrooms & lentils w/ coconut rice, crispy onions, sambal & cucumber
💰£8.50
💭 So many beaut flavours. Loved the lemongrass. Would’ve liked the mushrooms a bit chunkier. The portion could be a bit bigger with a stronger ratio curry to rice ratio but overall, I enjoyed it
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes, w/ changes
🌱Ve-dang bao w/ oyster mushrooms & lentils
💰£4.50 for 1, £8.50 for 2
💭 I think this works better in the bao than the rice box. The bao was soft, pillowy & fluffy and a good size – well stuffed. Flavours were beaut
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes
🏆 Fave dish
🌱No-prawn crackers
💰£1
💭Almost identical to prawn crackers!
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes
🌱Sweet bao – pandan-coco Oreo (see my reel)
💰£5
💭Just on the verge of too sugary / sweet for me but I liked it. Loved the contrast of temperatures from the ice cream & hot bao. Tasty!
🤷🏼♀️ Order again? Yes w/ changes
