Giving “high-end” dining a whole new meaning 👀 {press trip}
I can honestly say that I never thought I’d be eating a cauliflower steak 100 feet in the air but here we are ⛅️
@ldninthesky does what it says on the tin – you’re suspended on a table with a group of people, being served food while you admire the cityscape 😍 it is a bit scary (especially at first) but it’s also very bloody fun. I personally found that I forgot I was so high up…until I looked down 🙈
Here’s what I thought:
🍽 Food – Pretty good. The main focus is really the experience and it’s not a Michelin star meal but it’s not bad. Here’s what we ate:
🌱 Starter: Heritage Tomatoes, Smoked Tofu, Scorched Peach, Peach & Tomato Sambal, Marigold
💭 Not too bad but I think the dish could’ve used a bit more flavour / not sure if the tofu worked but appreciated some form of protein
🌱 Main: Dukka Seared Cauliflower Steak, Sweet Potato Pave, Pickled Heritage Carrot, Pea Puree & Watercress Salsa Verde, Red Pepper Emulsion
💭 There were some really beautiful flavours in here, I just wanted it to be a little more filling. Probs my fave course
🌱 Dessert: Choc Brownie, Blood Orange Yoghurt, Honeycomb, Raspberry Shingle & Candyfloss Meringues
💭 This was really tasty and it was nice to feel like I wasn’t missing out as a vegan as it was just a slightly modified version of the non-vegan one
💰 Cost – £179 per person 😬 It’s definitely not the kind of money I could afford to splash every weekend but it’s a pretty unique experience so I think for a special occasion, it’s okay ☺️
⏰ The flight lasts for one hour
🍸 Drinks – I think it’d be fairer to include more drinks in the price as you only get two glasses of wine
🚽 Toilets – I know you’re thinking it 😂 You’ve gotta hold it. It’s only an hour long but after three drinks, I did need to be fast-tracked for the seatbelt undoing 😄
