There’s an egg-citing new dish in town and I ain’t yolkin’ when I tell you that it’s 100% vegan 🍳🌱 (swipe for egg-stra goodness) #Ad
The egg-ceptionally clever team at @wagamama_uk have teamed up with all round good-egg and vegan chef eggs-traordinaire @avantgardeveganto create the cracking dish: “Gard’n of Vegan” 🌱🍃🌿
The “egg” is made using miso-infused coconut and sriracha mayo for the yolk 🍳 It is paired with BBQ glazed seitan, caramelised king oyster mushrooms 🍄, asparagus, sticky rice 🍚, edamame, sesame seeds, spring onions and carrot 🥕🍛
I really enjoyed this dish ♥️ First, let me say that whilst, taste wise, the “egg” doesn’t strongly resemble a real one, the sweet and spicy flavours actually work really well and they haven’t sacrificed any flavour to create it 👏🏼 The texture is somewhat similar (although a little more like sweet potato) and I actually found myself wanting more of it! 🤤
The seitan has a lovely smoky flavour which pairs well with the sticky rice 🔥 It’s also just the right thickness to soak up the flavour without being dense👌🏼 There are a lot of flavours in this bowl but none of them overpower the other 🙅🏼♀️ They’re well balanced and compliment one another. The spring onions and asparagus are a great addition and whilst the edamame adds a different texture, I would’ve preferred more asparagus 🙏🏻 All in all, a really unique and tasty dish which I would go back for and I’m also totally egging you all to try it, so let me know what you think! 🍳
Obvs I also got the vegakstu and aubergine & mushroom bao because I can’t resist them! ♥️ FYI This is currently only available in the Wagamama Test Kitchen in Soho. PS Going for the record of most puns ever used in an IG caption. Reckon I did it?! 😂
