…and I kinda get it, because weāve never quiiite been able to nail a vegan version of the traditional bacon roll š± But you know what? @cocodimamauk& @this.uk have just come pretty damn close šš¼ ā£

I took my bacon-loving friend @emsharp24 with me to give some perspective as itās been years since I ate it š„ Hereās what we thought:ā£

āļøā£ Letās start with the flavour. Itās not exactly the same as bacon but it has got that same smokiness and makes for a good substitute in that sense. Texture wise, the ābaconā is much chewier than real bacon and so not identical. The baguette is too hard for me. Itās really tough on the roof of your mouth and because itās also quite thick, the ābaconā and especially the spinach, get a bit lost. I think there needs to be a bit more ābaconā in the roll. I suggested that softer, thinner bread would work better here. In that case, it might not need more fillings. With a few tweaks, this could be a pretty bloody good replacement for the classic bacon roll! Also, thought that Ā£2.95 was a reasonable priceā£
